Honorary 50th Season Patron
Well-known to Quinte region residents, Mrs. Bata, together with her husband Thomas who worked for Bata Industries, were Founding Patrons of Quinte Symphony. From the outset, they appreciated and endorsed founding Music Director/Conductor, Stephen Choma's vision.
As community builders and business leaders, they understood the importance of a community orchestra to establishing a vibrant arts community in the region and the benefits it would bring to all. They expressed their support in concrete terms. Rehearsals were held at the Batawa Recreation Hall and music, music stands and other requirements and needs were consistently met.
Over the past 50 years Quinte Symphony has matured into a dynamic and progressive orchestra. We are honoured that Mrs. Bata agreed to be our Honorary 50th Season Patron, again demonstrating her ongoing commitment to this organization.
